INVERSE Update 0.66 – Quest 3 Visual Enhancements

INVERSE v0.66 introduces visual enhancements and lighting for the Quest 3. We also introduced a new weapon reload system and leaderboards in the multiplayer lobby.

 

General Bug Fixes and Improvements

  • Quest 3 visual enhancements
    • Dynamic lights and shadows

 

Multiplayer Gameplay

  • Reload system
    • When a weapon runs out of ammo, the left slot on the player utility belt will turn into an unlimited stock of magazines (when not holding a weapon, this slot is the defib)
    • Players grab a magazine from the utility slot and insert the mag into the handle of the weapon
    • Spent magazines will automatically eject from the weapon and the digital display will show no ammo left 
  • Added leaderboards to multiplayer lobby
    • In the room to the left of the main multiplayer lobby (behind the door with a hand scanner), there are two displays on the wall for top Agents and top Nul
    • Leaderboard is calculated on stats over the last 48 hours

Agents & AI

  • Fixed bug where Agent decoys have super speed after climbing up a ladder
  • Fixed bug where Agent AI would stop moving after jumping through windows

Maps

  • Ruins
    • Fixed hole in map by the stairs outside the structure to the left of Agent spawn
  • Arctic
    • Adjusted ramp and supports mesh attached outside of hangar
  • Favela
    • Fixed hole in map

Nul & AI

  • Skitters can now attach to your face as well as your arms when the Swarm is released
  • When a Skitter is attached to a player, they reveal that player to the Nul monster (only the Nul sees this reveal)
  • Fire extinguishers now affect Nul AI
  • Fire extinguishers can now be used to freeze and shatter Skitters
  • Fixed AI behavior to go after Agents that are within sight at further but still reasonable distances (previous sight distance was set low)

Audio

  • Added concurrency to Extermination phase voice overs

Tutorials, Challenge Maps and Single Player Lobby

  • Added info about the Swarm/Skitters to tutorial video
  • Fixed bug where you could not sprint in all directions in Challenge Maps
  • Addressed performance issues in Challenge Map 1
  • Removed remaining sound decoys from Challenge Map 2
  • Fixed a hole in a wall in Challenge Map 1
  • Fixed wall collisions in Agent tutorial

Loadout Equipment and Map Items

  • Fixed bug where failed decoy launcher deploys stay in world
  • Fixed bug where Agent AI would try to spawn unnecessary toolbelt equipment
  • Fixed bug where guns do not appear in hand when grabbed from inventory
  • Fixed trap distance-grab being priority over other items near it

UI and Pause Menu

  • Added a one-time loading message that loads for 35 seconds at the beginning of game play when shaders need to compile (will only happen once after new installs or updates, this will not play every time the game is opened if there has been no update/new install)
  • Added a Welcome Menu to give players the option to jump into matches quicker and to display info on changes and updates
    • Welcome menu can be enabled/disabled through Settings in the Pause menu
  • Updated Unreal Engine logo on splash screen
  • Updated “Failed to Join Server” message
  • Updated layout of Scoreboard and Lobby pause menu
  • Updated layout of Nul Equip menu and added additional stats display for each character
  • Scroll arrows on Perk and Equipment sub menus disable when you are scrolled all the way to one side (when you are scrolled all the way to the left, the left arrow is disabled to more visibly relate that you can still scroll to the right)
  • Removed Store tab; cosmetics can be purchased through the Agent customization menu
  • Add language selection option in Settings menu for future localization options (not currently in use)
  • Made “Return to Singleplayer” (Exit Multiplayer) button more prominent
  • Moved “I’m Stuck” button to Scoreboard menu so it is more easily accessible when in a match
